Remote Sensing (RS)

Data about earth surface features are collected by satellites and by aerial methods, such as photography and videography. Such remotely sensed data are now used extensively in several day-to-day decision making process as well as in research. The data is collected often in digital format and they require extensive processing. This processed data can then be used for providing the status of features from the ground or it can be integrated with other data in a Geographic Information System (GIS). Recent advances in computer technology in terms of software and hardware enable us to process vast quantity of data that was impossible a few years ago.

Topics Covered
  • Fundamentals of Remote Sensing
  • Brief Introduction to ERDAS Imagine
